From the directing concept:
"The fairy tale opera for children tells of man's cooperation with nature and her representatives, the dwarfs. Nature has her laws and man is supposed to respect them. If we humans live in harmony with nature and with each other, we will always be provided for and safe, and therefore there will be no reason to fear. Instead of the fear of survival, there will be more room for better relationships and love!"

From the review:
"The interest in seeing the opera was overwhelming. The average age of the children was seven. The children listened to the opera calmly and composedly, describing the experience as 'watching a live cartoon'. The opera by Šivic is one of the few Slovenian operas for children. Similar such projects can get children excited about opera at an early age, while performers gain their first opera experience. Our future will be paved with quality performances for children."
