From the directing concept:
"In our performance, Abelard confronts his inner world in search of the truth. Everything that happens inside him is also reflected outside him, in the physical world. In our interpretation, Heloise is thus a parable for his female principle, which wants to be seen, heard, expressed and accepted. Abelard fears the unconscious part of his inner self and prefers to run away from the truth rather than face it.”

From the review:
"How to put such a specific work on the theater stage was carefully considered by Slovenian Chamber Music Theatre director Eva Hribernik, who has been tested many times. She envisioned the stage setting as distinctly rigid and static, as she would like to underline even more clearly the unforgiving and merciless rigidity of medieval society, over which the fate of two exceptional individuals, standing out from the average, is breaking in front of the audience."
