From the directing concept:
"The story is set in a small cabaret theatre with an acting troupe. The leader of the group is Dr Falk, who was publicly disgraced when he was found on a park bench dressed in a Bat costume. At that time, Dr Falk experienced himself as different, inappropriate and inadequate for society. Together with the actors, Dr Falk explores the reflection of the individual within society. After a long journey of stepping into different roles, just as we do every day, the actors finally step out of their roles and sing a toast to life for the audience."
From the review:
"The director Eva Hribernik has devised an interpretation that breaks from tradition - she has conceived the story as a "performance within a performance" and shaped it as a cabaret. The performance captivated with the extraordinary variety and vitality of the direction, which is often a hallmark of Eva Hribernik's work." (Tomaž Gržeta, SiGledal, 12 December 2022)
